I don't believe that professor Sowell was talking only about government with this quote. Clearly in the world of crony capitalism history is replete with examples of "professional CEOs" who totally destroy a company's culture and profitability, essentially severely wounding or killing a once great American Company, and are then rewarded with a massive golden parachute in the millions. It's wrong in industry and it is doubly wrong in government!
